Canada Red Bull Urban EnduroCross

For the last three years we visit Calgary in September, I promise 2 days dedicated to my wife and her family there with no complaints (her words were whining, as if!) and I get to go to the Canadian Urban Endurocross Challenge. This year was the fourth year for this excellent Red Bull Rocks and Logs challenge@ Wild Rose MX Park.
I love motocross and been a fan and rider since my early teens but not a serious competitor – I tend to like to try out new experiences rather than sticking to one but if I had to this would be the one for me. Endurocross is an upgrade of the thrill factor. These riders are the athletes who push themselves further and harder for their sport.

Enduro is at its simplest a test of endurance of rider and bike for longer distances over rough terrain, either natural or designed by man to blow your mind. Motocross and Supercross all bring their own thrills and excitement; Arenacross brings it indoors and is proving very popular worldwide, introducing the sport to audiences who will not go to the fields and outside tracks!
Enduro is a physically and demanding challenge to test endurance over a period of time and different terrains. Red Bull has a number of challenges all over the world. A mate of mine got to go the Red Bull Sea to Sky in Kemer, Turkey this year and was full of its praises. The beach race was a good challenge and the forest x 2 endurance really taxing.
This year at Calgary had some extra punch with some of the top pro riders coming along. The number one extreme ace, Poland’s, Taddy Blazusiak, and the newcomer to Calgary and this years winner, AMA Endurocross Champion Cody Webb moved the whole event up a notch for me. 125 riders competed including 25 pro riders. The course was well designed and gave all the riders the challenge it was suppose to, giving the supporters and spectators some spectacular riding and spills of course. No Endurocross would be complete without the spills!!
